Although Australian Immigration services welcome tourists to our shores, there are important things you should know before applying for a visitor visa.

New Zealand passport holders can apply for their visa upon arrival in the country, but all other passport holders must hold a valid visa before arriving in Australia.

Visitor Visas

If you’re planning to visit Australia for a holiday, sightseeing, social or recreational activities, to see relatives and friends, or for a short-term non-working stay, you will need to apply for an Australian visitor visa. The visitor visa category includes several streams, such as tourist, family-sponsored, and business visitor visas, each tailored to different travel purposes.

Choosing the right visitor visa can sometimes be confusing. That’s why it’s best to consult with a migration specialist to identify the most suitable visa pathway for your situation.

This temporary visa allows you to stay in Australia for up to three, six, or twelve months. Depending on the visa stream, you may be able to apply from inside or outside Australia.

At Wings International, we guide you through every step of the visa application process, ensuring you have the best chance of a smooth and successful visit to Australia.

eVisitor and ETAs

Certain passport holders may be eligible for an eVisitor or Electronic Travel Authority. These are fast-tracked tourist visas available to those countries which Australia holds an agreement with. They are generally suitable for short stays and tourism.

Working Holidays

Some countries have a close relationship with Australia through programs that promote cultural exchange, allowing young people to enjoy an extended holiday while supplementing their stay with short-term employment.

These visas are generally available to applicants up to 30 years old and are limited to passport holders from countries that participate in Australia’s Working Holiday (WH) programs.

For detailed information about the Working Holiday and Work and Holiday programs, as well as guidance on working in Australia, please visit the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs website and download the official fact sheet.

At Wings International, we’re here to help you navigate the application process and maximize your chances of securing a Working Holiday or Work and Holiday visa, so you can make the most of your time in Australia.
